Five Animals

Dragon

The dragon represents the cultivation of spirit and wisdom; in short, the philosophy of the art of kung fu. Strength is used through chi and the power of the mind. Any strike or kick should move naturally. Speed will result as the body relaxes and the mind is clear of other thoughts. The White Dragon is all powerful and can change shape and form at will to facilitate victory. Bai Lung Pai dragon-style fighting transcends the easily understood real world of external martial arts and enters the spiritual world of internal strength and power. Part of the dragon's spirit is his intention. This type of chi development is called shen. It allows the animal practitioner to focus his chi out through his eyes to produce a special kind of spirit or intention. White Dragon gives the student a vehicle with which to combine his internal energy with his external strengths to produce awesome power.
